Pure and Noble

Thursday, October 21, 2010

You know what I think the best thing about blogging is?  It's making genuine and soulful connections with fellow bloggers.  Have you ever made any of those kinds of connections?  I met Brooke in the spring of this year when she sent me a very sweet and personal e-mail one day after reading my blog.  We made a personal connection and I have admired her authentic and courageous voice that she communicates on her blog since that very day.  Brooke is quite talented with a sewing machine and has opened her very own etsy shop filled with lots of love and bunches of cute pillows, bags and totes.

You can visit Brooke at her blog, Pure and Noble or stop by her etsy shop and pick up some cute things for yourself.

Surprisingly it hasn't gotten chilly here yet, so I might save some of these ideas for November.

Colorful Kitchenist

I'm a little bored with my plain old steamed vegetables, so I've been seeking out cooking blogs for something fresh and new when I stumbled upon Kitchenist.  Ele's artful arrangements from the farmers market are a feast for the eyes and make those veggies look oh so good for you.  Time to get in the kitchen and cook up something tasty.

Favorites From The Week

Friday, October 15, 2010

I'd like to drink from this Starbucks cup.

I've lost 25 pounds and am in desperate need of new clothes.  I'm very exicted my favorite pants style is back.

Filing these DIY ideas with mason jars for the holidays.

Loving this teapot pinboard for the kitchen.

Inspired by this color palette.

A recipe to save for Thanksgiving.

There's just something about this studio space.

These leggings are sure to bring out your wild side.

Have a great weekend my friends.

Mountain Dreams

Thursday, October 14, 2010

I love these new paintings from Dee's collection, "Releasing the Mountain Dream".  She really knows how to add character to these animals and the bright backgrounds of pink, yellow and turqoise really make them come alive.  The little chipmunk "Ethel" is pretty cute.  She's definately made my list of favorites.

Photoswap 2010

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

This is the second year I joined Rhianne's photoswap and was pleasantly surprised when I developed the roll of film I received from my photoswap partner Megan, who lives in Australia.  Here is just a sampling of her postcard worthy pictures...

The hardest part about the photoswap is waiting to see how your own photo's turn out.  I'm sure Megan was just as eager to see how her photos turned out as well.  If you'd like to see a few of my photo's you can check out Megan's blog, Time after tea.  Thank you Rhianne and Megan for photoswapping fun.

Weekend Delights!

Friday, October 8, 2010

I have lots of thoughts on my mind about this blog, but am hard to pressed to get them lined up in an organized fashion.  I think I've had bloggers block for sometime now.  Have you ever experiend that?  I'm heading to the mountains tomorrow for a women's retreat and hoping it will help clear this head of mine.  As I was laying in bed praying this morning, I was reminded that I need to find delight in everyday life.  May you find delight in your weekend too.

Blessings,

Little Winter: A Handmade Market

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Thank you for your get well wishes while I was away recovering from surgery.  I started to feel alot better after week three, but I needed just a little extra time to get back into the swing of things.  I think I'd like to take an overnight trip to Portland for a little getaway and holiday shopping at Little Winter: A Handmade Market, hosted by Chelsea and Abby.  It's only a 2 hour drive from my home and being held at the Ace Hotel in Portland, Oregon on November 6th and 7th.
