Happy Friday and a trip to Israel

Inspiration Boards - Where am I now, Where am I going?

I've been noticing all these inspiration boards on some of my favorite blogs lately that were created in the blogging your way e-class put on by Decor8.  All the inspiration boards were created by hand with tangible pictures and objects, nothing digital.  I like the idea of creating an inspiration board about how I see my blog now and the direction I'd like it to take.  I'm going to have a try at this.  Would you like to join me?  If so, send me a picture of your inspiration board and I will post them on March 20th, the first day of Spring.

Lime Green and Lemons

This space instantly caught my eye on A CUP OF JO today and I had to post it here for safe keeping.  The green cabinet reminds me of a cabinet that I had in my room when I was a young child but it wasn't painted a pretty green like this one, it was very dark brown.  I'd like to grow lemons in my house and have white shelves full of brightly colored glass that looks like the sea.

I find constant design inspiration in the blog world that appeals to a variety of visual my senses. Gathering Spriggs is one design blog that consistently appeals to my sense of color.

Heather inspires me daily with her vintage style and eye for color. Her blog features up and coming artists, designers and color trends, green living and boutiques around the globe.  Heather is a talented artist and designer herself from Nashville, TN and the last photo in this post is three of her very own surface designs from a project she is currently working on.

Good Morning

Good Morning.  I'm back and finally feeling better.  I rested up this weekend and did a little shopping for a trip that is coming up.  I'll be going to Israel at the end of this month.  The deep beautiful blue of the Mediteranean Sea, from my last trip in 2006, is still always fresh in my mind.

I'm signing off for the weekend.  Everyone has gotten the flu (the yucky throw-up kind) in our house this week, so we are all a little tired and will be resting up and drinking lots of liquids to replenish ourselves.  I hope you all have a Happy Valentines Day and a wonderful weekend.  I'll see you here on Monday.

I'm inspired by this room today that I saw on Decor Amor.  I love the wall full of vintage pictures and I've always secretly wanted a pink sofa, and the girl, well, she's just too cute.

Enduring Love

In keeping with the sweet love theme I have going here, I thought I might post a few pictures of the wedding I decorated for last summer for my friends, Jen and Adam.  My friend Lorraine took all the professional photographs of the wedding and was kind enough to go through her photographs and send me a few good detail pictures of the decor for my portfolio that I'm working on.

The colors of the wedding were red, white and black, and with a very small budget for decor, we got pretty creative.  It seems I've learned to do this for most of the events I have decorated for and I'm beginning to take on these challenges with great enthusiasm.  You don't need a lot of money to make your event look nice, just good friends and a creative mind.  You must visit Lorrraine Marie Photography to hear a little bit more about Jen and Adam's great story of enduring love and see more photo's of the wedding.

Thoughts...

If I had this office, I would lay in that hammock and dream about traveling the world, or think about how I'm doing on the goals that I made for myself this year.  I met with a friend yesterday and we talked about our visions and goals and the desires of our heart.  You know that the bible says "Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart."  Sometimes it helps to encourage and push us forward when we reveal our dreams and visions and goals to each other.  What are the desires of your heart today?
