Decorating for Hanukkah

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Wow, tomorrow is the first day of December and now is when it really feels like that festive time of year for me.  It's probably because I celebrate my birthday on December 14th as well as Hanukkah and Christmas in December too.  Hanukkah is early this year, starting tomorrow evening, and just today I am finally putting up holiday decorations.

I was inspired by this garland I saw on babble this morning.  It's colors in blue, silver and white suit Hanukkah and it's designs are for Christmas too.  I like these double duty decorations.

I picked up a few of these dreidels from Crate and Barrel last week.  Mostly because I loved the flower design on the bottom, but also because they were so inexpensive.  I seem to find a few new ones every year to add to my collection.

And of course you can't have a holiday without a DIY.  I love this fleece pom pom hanukkah garland I spied on Creature Comforts this morning.  Well I get better get off this computer and get busy decorating.  I have lots of things to do today, including Hanukkah decorations for a few other events as well.  I love this time of year.  How about you?

Melissa, these ideas are adorable! It must be cool getting to learn and celebrate both religious traditions!

I love this time of year too, this year it seems to be disappearing at an alarming rate and I really wish I could slow it down so that I can relish each moment a little more.

Wow, I love both of those garlands! Blue and white lasts beyond the holidays for winter, too.
