{Riding the Ducks in New York City}

Hello my friends, it's good to be back. Thank you for visiting and leaving me well wishes while I was gone. We had a wonderful time in Conneticut, Rhode Island and New York. Just catching up with everything since I have returned. I'll be visiting some of you soon to see what you have been up to.

Another great piece of creative architecture. Notice the musical drainpipes and wavy blue stripes.

Tiny Two Party

Monday, August 10, 2009

There is no shortage of party posts this summer and this tiny two party is one of the cutest I have seen. I think I was drawn to this post because I love the color combination and the tiny hamburgers and hot dogs are just too cute.

Weekend Delights

Saturday, August 8, 2009

I have a little mini diary that I ordered about a year ago from Marta. I fill it out from time to time when I remember to. I try to find different things each day to delight in, but I have noticed by looking back that there are patterns in what I love from day to day. I thought I would share with you some of my loves for today.

Yearning for...

Friday, August 7, 2009

{Samantha Lamb Photography}
Home...a desired place of comfort and love, permanence, stability, but why is it never enough. We build, decorate, add and take away, then we move on to a new place or a new desire. We are not content. Is it really because we yearn for a place that is perfection, a place that we were made for, a place that could only be filled by one, the Lord God our maker. I'm yearning for a different place today, for a place of perfect love and contentment. I know that I can get there, but sometimes it feels far away. What are you yearning for today?

Jolly Joy Ride

Monday, August 3, 2009

I have always liked little cars. If I could have any car I would like, I would buy myself a Mini Cooper, but right now I drive a little Chevy Aveo. When I saw these little cars with the wicker seats and fringed tops, I had to add them to my list of "fun cars I'd like to drive". In the late 50's the Italian design house Ghia converted the Fiat 600 into these little cars called Jolly. The Jolly was built to accommodate the needs of the rich and famous. Primarily used by the affluent Yacht owner, it was easily loaded on a Yacht and driven from beach to beach across the Mediterranean. From 1958-62 they were used as taxi's on Santa Catalina Island off the coast of California. You might also remember seeing them on one of my family's favorite shows from the late 70's, Fantasy Island. What is on your list of "fun cars you'd like to drive"?
