I had no idea that my photo swap partner would end up being such a great blogging friend and an awesome photographer as well. Here is a photo of my beautiful swap partner Becca, and yes that is a real butterfly on her finger. Here is a just a sampling of some of the photos she sent me. There were so many good ones it was hard to choose which ones to post. Here are a few of my favorites and if you'd like to see more you can visit the photo swap '09 flickr group.
Photo Swap Surprise!
Monday, December 7, 2009
In November I joined this photo swap just for fun. The rules of the swap was to take pictures with a roll of film or a disposable camera and send them to your swap partner to develop. The suprise would be seeing what your pictures look like when your partner posts them on their blog. I was delightfully surprised when I got the developed film back and this was the first photo that I saw when I opened the package. Isn't she cute, and isn't this the most clever and sweet way to say hello?

She's so cute! That the sweetest way to say hello, indeed.
What! That's a real butterfly? So pretty. Those are really good photos. I like the pretty blue balloons. Thanks for sharing them Melissa!
I found Becca through your Pay It Forward post and she has now chosen me to pay it forward to - so thank you for introducing us!
What amazing photo's - I was not confident enough to enter this photo swap (although I did toy with the idea for days!). Those coloured buttons in jars make me swoon! And babies feet - aren't they just the best.
A big thank you for sharing these xx
these photos are stunning! I was so excited when I saw them on the flickr page...
Wow!! These photos are really gorgeous! What a fun way to exchange photos :)
thanks for all of the sweet words! :D
yes, a real butterfly. haha. it was so weird. i can't remember how we found it but there were three other girls with me and that beautiful creature crawled onto each of our hands and let us observe him. maybe just to let us enjoy some of God's most beautiful (in my opinion) creations. i love butterflies!!!
melissa, thanks so much for posting these! i was so nervous because like you said, i'm so used to looking back at them on my digital camera. i'm glad i get to see that they turned out.
it was a nice break from this real world stuff to come over here and look at the pictures. thanks!!!
:)
Wow they are really lovely photos!!
Wow, what a sweet surprise! The photos are all so thoughtfully taken. Such a fun idea to do a photo swap like that.
What a fabulous concept. The pics are delightful! x
Loving my talented friend's, photos. She caught a bit of your style in them, somehow! wow!
xoxo
(Is it okay to pay it forward in the New Year or does it need to be done immediately? We have been a wee bit insane with my parent's coming.)
Wow - these are lovely! Love the great big hello! - what a happy surprise
what an amazing artist she is, her pictures are truly stunning. And that first one is just too cute!!!! congrats Melissa!!! x
hey, melissa.
i finally developed your camera today (i'm a bit of a procrastinator)! i was so delighted to see the balloons. i kind of expected it, coming from you and all. ;) i also adore that pink lamp! it's so beautiful and fun!
i am in the process of scanning them right now and am going to send them to rhianne when i'm done. i'll make a post about them tonight after work, when i get home.
oh, and thanks again to those who left such nice comments! :)
:)
i know what you mean about the disposable cameras. they make me so mad sometimes! there's no focus and no zoom! if you wanted to get in close you have to physically move in and then the focus gets messy.
they're good for taking to church camp and and things like that. hee hee. :)
oh well, i still really enjoyed getting a little glimpse into the things that surround and are a part of your life up there in washington.
oh man, if we lived closer together i would be all about giving you little pointers and such! that would be so fun! you know, you could always go to the library and look for photography- how to books...
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.
there are no words other than ABSOLUTELY stunning.
That pretty little girl melts my heart.
and the lights... magical.
this looks like such a fun idea! totally wishing i would've participated :) the pictures are adorable!
Beautiful pics !!!
